We’re Looking for a New Chair to Join EGFR Positive UK
EGFR Positive UK (EGFR+UK) is a patient-driven charity supporting people affected by EGFR-positive non-small cell lung cancer. We deliver national projects, raise awareness of mutation-driven, non-smoking lung cancer, support patients and families, and advocate for consistent, high-quality treatment across the UK.
We are now seeking a Chair to lead our Board and help us continue this work.
About the Role
The Chair ensures all our activities support patients, families and carers. You will lead the Board in setting policy, monitoring performance, exercising financial control, and managing risk.
You will also promote the charity externally—helping establish EGFR+UK as the “go to” organisation for EGFR+ NSCLC—and influence decisions relating to diagnosis, treatment and access to care across the UK. Building relationships with clinicians, researchers, government, pharmaceutical partners and other patient groups will be central to the role.
What Type of Person Should You Be?
We’re looking for someone who brings:
Proven experience chairing boards, committees or senior leadership teams
Strong strategic thinking, able to set direction and “see the bigger picture”
Sound judgement, courage, resilience and the ability to work through complex decisions
Emotional intelligence and excellent facilitation skills, enabling all voices to be heard
Clear, confident communication, with the ability to influence and build consensus
Curiosity and interest in EGFR+ NSCLC, and a commitment to reducing stigma
A proactive, outcome-focused approach, with a track record of getting things done
