EGFR+ UK at BTOG!

Gini presenting EGFR+ UK Member Survey data at BTOG

In March our trustees, Gini and Charlie, attended the 23rd British Thoracic Oncology Group (BTOG) annual conference held at the ICC in Belfast.

BTOG membership is open to all health care professionals involved in any aspect of lung cancer or mesothelioma research, care or treatment as well as NHS screening personnel involved in targeted lung health checks (TLHC). Patient advocates, members of industry, charities, non-profit or other non-healthcare professionals are welcomed as members of the BTOG Network.

Subjects varied from implementing genomic testing within the UK, reducing variations in care, non medical treatments in cancer care as well as concurrent radiotherapy symposium and LCNUK symposium. An afternoon session was dedicated for patient advocates and charities covering jargon busting, types of clinical trials, updates on radiotherapy methods and an interactive round table.

There were numerous opportunities taken to network outside of the formal sessions and to increase the awareness of EGFR+ UK. Results of the patient survey were well received and induced great discussion with those who attended our stand. We were also able to meet with reps from the other organisations and charities and move forward some of our joint projects.

The 24th BTOG annual conference will take place 4-6 Mar 26 at the EICC in Edinburgh and we look forward to being in attendance.
